Fall Out Boy Reuniting
‘Tis the season for reunions, and Fall Out Boy have joined the ranks of big bands getting back together — possibly for major festival appearances. According to a post on the music blog PropertyOfZack, the emo-pop outfit’s reunion is definitely on, and an official statement will be coming down the pipeline soon.
“PropertyOfZack has confirmed with several trusted sources that Fall Out Boy are reuniting after a three year-plus hiatus,” reads the post. “Fans should expect an official announcement in the near future.”
Meanwhile, Spinner claims some high-profile festival appearances are also in FOB’s future. “According to what we’ve heard from an extremely reliable source,” the site reports, “the band is booked to play a major festival (but we’ll leave that to someone else to officially announce).”
Fall Out Boy went on indefinite hiatus in 2009 after releasing five albums, including the multi-platinum 2005 disc ‘From Under the Cork Tree,’ their biggest seller. ‘Cork Tree’ spawned the crossover hit ‘Sugar, We’re Going Down.’ The band’s members — Patrick Stump, Pete Wentz, Joe Trohman and Andy Hurley — have since been involved in other projects, but none have captured the imagination — or disposable income of bummed-out teenagers — like Fall Out Boy.
