A federal judge recently sentenced four people on crimes relating to aircraft, child pornography and methamphetamine, according to a news release from the Wyoming U.S. Attorney's Office.

U.S. District Court Judge Alan Johnson sentenced Scott Michael Lewis, 27, of Lakewood, Colo., for operating an unregistered aircraft. Lewis received three years of probation and was ordered to pay a $100 special assessment and a $1,000 fine.

This case was investigated by the U.S. Department of Transportation Office of Inspector General and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Johnson sentenced Garrett Ross Castleman, 27, of Casper for possession of child pornography. He received four months imprisonment, to be followed by five years of probation. Castleman will be required to wear an electronic home monitoring device for the first four months of supervised release. Johnson also ordered Castleman to pay a $100 special assessment and a $400 fine. This case was investigated by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Johnson also sentenced Amber Lynn Troudt, 28, on two counts of distribution of methamphetamine. Troudt was arrested in Torrington. She received six years, three months imprisonment, to be followed by three years of probation. The judge ordered her to pay a $100 special assessment and restitution in the amount of $400. This case was investigated by the DCI.

In another drug case, Johnson sentenced Karen Michelle Cox, 52, of Salt Lake City for conspiracy to distribute between 1.5 and 3.0 kilograms of methamphetamine. She received 10 years, one month imprisonment, to be followed by five years of probation. Johnson also ordered her to pay a $100 special assessment and $900 in restitution.

This case resulted from an ongoing Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces joint investigation conducted by the DCI, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Internal Revenue Service. The OCDETF's mission is to identify, disrupt and dismantle the most serious drug trafficking, weapons trafficking and money laundering organizations, and those primarily responsible for the nation’s illegal drug supply.
