UPDATE 6:55 p.m.: A Colorado man who was barricaded in a Cheyenne home surrendered to police shortly before 7 p.m. Tuesday. He has been identified as Jimmy Files.

UPDATE 6:05 pm--Law enforcement officers on the scene have began firing tear gas into the house in an effort to get the suspect to surrender.

UPDATE; LT. Don Hollingshead with the Laramie County Sheriff's Department says the suspect was originally spotted in a vehicle near the Bighorn Motel by a Laramie County Sheriff's Deputy. A short car chase followed. The man then reportedly went into the back door of a residence on East 12th. There are reports the man may be armed. The suspect's name has not been released, but he reportedly was wanted on a parole violation on an original charge of burglary in Colorado.

The Cheyenne Police Department, Laramie County Sheriff's Department and the Wyoming Highway Patrol have been deployed to 2500 E. 12th in Cheyenne for a SWAT call, according to an announcement on the Cheyenne Police Department facebook page..

According to the report a wanted felon from Colorado fled from a deputy and barricaded himself in a home.

The homeowner has been evacuated along with surrounding homes. KGAB will report further details as they become available.
