The Cheyenne City Council finance committee  voted 2-1  Monday in favor of sending a proposal to grant High West Energy a franchise to continue serving 14 customers within the Cheyenne city limits.

Ward 2 Councilman Jack Spiker said d he voted for the proposal in committee in part because he felt a memorandum on the issue written by the City Attorney’s Office was unfairly slanted against High West Energy.  Spiker was joined in voting in favor of the proposal by Councilman Don Pierson. Councilman Jimmy Valdez voted against the proposal, which now moves on to the full City Council for further consideration during their meeting on Monday July 9th.
