Come on out and see what the Journey Home Festival is all about--poker in the day, and Firefall and Sean Curtis in concert at night. Sounds great, right? What's even better is this event on Saturday, June 21 at the Archer Complex will benefit Cheyenne's COMEA Shelter.

The day starts off with their 3rd Annual Poker Run starting at High Country Cycle at 11 a.m., and then a night filled with music with Sean Curtis and Firefall in concert at the Archer Complex starting at 6 p.m.

Many people right here in our community have found themselves facing extremely hard times, and often find themselves homeless. Several reasons are given for this situation, but according to COMEA Shelter, they say at the top of the list is mental illness and addiction, and sadly, job loss, lack of affordable housing and day care are close behind. That's why  COMEA is committed to helping each and every individual who comes through their doors.

COMEA Shelter is an emergency shelter for men, women, and families who are needing help.  They provides a hot, nutritious meal at night and breakfast in the morning; showers; access to the free clothing pantry; and free medical attention at Cheyenne Healthcare for the Homeless next door.  They reach out to as many as they can in the Cheyenne community, but the needs are much greater every year, and they're looking to the community to "help those who need help," and hope that this fundraiser will be a great way to get the community involved, all while having a fun time.

The Journey Home Festival will also have a beer garden sponsored by Sanford's, lots of food vendors, and they'll have event T-shirts and CD's for sale.  All you have to do is bring your lawn chairs or blankets, pack up the family, and head over to Archer Complex for a great night of music.

Tickets for the concert are on sale NOW, and are $25 each, and children 15 and under get in free with a paying adult.  You can go to COMEA Shelter to get tickets, or call COMEA at 307-632-3174, for ticket information, along with information about the 3rd Annual Poker Run.  Joe Lopez, who's helping to coordinate the event, can also help you with information on purchasing tickets at 307-630-5612.

We will be out there as well, so join us for a great night of music from Firefall along with Sean Curtis at Archer Complex starting at 6 p.m., and help support this wonderful organization who've helped countless people in this community, COMEA Shelter.  We'll see you there!
