A wonderful aroma of smells complimented a nearly 80 degree afternoon in downtown Cheyenne Friday.

The first United Way Food Truck Rally of 2016 was a huge success. Hundreds of Cheyenne residents, regional foodies, and curious tourists, came to check out the event.

The most popular option Friday was a truck from Laramie, On The Hook Fish & Chips. Having tried most of the trucks that were in attendance before the event, I grabbed the fish and chips with a side of chowder. Despite being completely swamped and a nearly 45 minute wait in line, the food was perfect. On The Hook will certainly rank among one of my favorite Wyoming food trucks.

The second longest line seemed to be around a Cheyenne favorite that just opened it's brick and mortar building, Tasty Bones BBQ. Tasty Bones serves up award winning ribs, pulled pork, and brisket. Plus, it was the best smelling truck of the day!

A big surprise for a lot of Cheyenne residents, was the Kabob King food truck. After closing their store this year, patrons were relieved to get their fix.

Crema Coffee Wagon provided refreshments. These folks set up early so pedestrians could grab coffee in the morning and a refreshing smoothie in the afternoon.
