Frontier Days are just around the corner and, once again this year, the flag of the Netherlands is proudly diplayed on the streets of downtown Cheyenne.

The horizontal red, white and blue bars have represented the Kingdom of the Netherlands since 1527.

For many years, it's also welcomed visitors to Wyoming's capital city for the "Daddy of 'Em All".

Obviously, the red, white and blue flag is intended to represent the patriotic history of Frontier Days. But doesn't it make you wonder why the city doesn't use the American flag instead? Maybe they got a sweet deal on Netherlands flags from flagsimporter.com.

It could be worse. Just be thankful the French haven't taken over Cheyenne. Luckily, their flag featues vertical red, white and blue bars.
