Several years ago, U2 singer Bono publicly suggested that circumcising young boys could help prevent the spread of HIV in Africa. Evidently, that didn't sit well with members of a 'foreskin awareness' group in Canada.

Last night, before the opening date of U2's 'Innocence and Experience' tour in Vancouver, the Canadian Foreskin Awareness Project gathered outside of the  Rogers Arena to protest Bono's vocal support of mass male circumcision.

According to their Facebook page, CFAP is "Canada's feistiest pro-foreskin advocacy group, promoting foreskin education, appreciation and stimulation, and advocate for the human right of ALL children o intact genitals".

Unfortunately for their sake, the protesters were unable to convince fans to boycott the sold out concert. It's unknown whether or not other organizations will launch similar protests during the remainder of the tour.
