A Colorado company has been awarded a $4.75 Million contract for improvement work on the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest, according to forest service spokesman Chris Strebig.

He says besides thinning and other general forest improvement work, Confluence Energy of Kremmling, Colo. will work to find uses for wood from trees killed by the mountain pine and bark beetle infestations that have plagued forest lands across the west in recent years. Strebig says work under the contract could continue for the next 10 years.
