Four new City of Cheyenne department directors were sworn in by Cheyenne Municipal Senior Court Judge Mark Moran on Tuesday morning at the Cheyenne Public Safety Building.

The four include:

- Cheyenne Fire and Rescue Chief Greg Hoggatt. The new chief comes to Cheyenne from Boynton Beach, Florida, where he was the Deputy Chief of Operations/Emergency Manager. Hoggatt has over 29 years of firefighting experience. Mayor Marian Orr describes the new chief as a ''firefighters' firefighter," and says he was the city's top choice following an exhaustive national search.

-Planning and Development Director Robert Briggs. The mayor says Briggs had held a similar position in Sheridan since 2004.  She says Sheridan ''has a vibrant downtown' and credits Briggs for streamlining the business permitting process in that community.

-Community Recreation and Events Director Theresa Moore. Moore has been with the city for ''many, many years," in the mayor's words. Moore was a long time employee of the city's Parks and Recreation Department. She is the only one of the four new directors sworn in on Tuesday to be promoted from within the city.

-City Treasurer Ron Downey. Downey joins the city after a long term with the Wyoming Department of Transportation [WYDOT]. The mayor says his background includes extensive experience working with federal grants as well as state funding, adding "He brings a wealth of information."

The mayor says now that she has her own team in place, she can begin implementing some of the changes that she highlighted in her mayoral campaign, including such things as streamlining the permitting processes for local businesses.
