An evening of free teen activities will be held on Saturday, March 12 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Youth Activity and Community Center, 1317 Parsley Blvd. for students in grades 9-12.

The event is designed to offer teens a variety of fun activities that they can participate in with friends or on their own.

Activities will include freeze tag, ultimate Frisbee, finger painting, coloring and more. Teens are welcome to drop by any time between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. and stay as long as they would like. Light snacks will be provided.

The event is being held in conjunction with Mental Health Month to remind teens and others that they need to take a break from their school work and other activities to have fun and relax.

Members of the Mayor’s Youth Council want to offer ideas for teens to incorporate into their personal lives, whether with friends or on their own. All teens are welcome to attend.

The Mayor’s Youth Council is a program of the City of Cheyenne designed to help students learn about city government while also gaining networking, civic trusteeship and leadership skills. Applications are being accepted for the 2016-17 school year and will be available at the event. Forms and information are also available on-line.

For more information, call the City Planning Office at 637-6284.
