Game and Fish to Check Incoming Boats for AIS

A spokesman for the Wyoming Game and Fish Department says that agency will be requiring all boats  entering  Wyoming between March 1 and November 30 from other states to be inspected for aquatic invasive species before those boats are used in any Wyoming waterway.

Al Langston says the agency will be opening AIS check stations at ports of entry, border locations and boat ramps to conduct the checks. Langston also says that any boat, whether from Wyoming or out of state, that has been used in waters known to be infested with zebra or quagga mussels in the last 30 days, will have to undergo an inspection, no matter the time of year.

Wyoming has required AIS inspections on boats owned by state residents for several years.
