While Cheyenne prepares for a cold, snowy weekend, our friends at Special Olympics Wyoming will be freezin' for a reason. Saturday afternoon, they'll be hosting their annual "Jackalope Jump" at Sloan's Lake.

Believe it or not, some people actually enjoy jumping into a freezing lake on a cold winter day.  Saturday's Cheyenne event is one of 17 Jackalope Jumps planned across the state. Registration will begin at 1 p.m, then the brave participants will take the icy plunge at 2.

Special Olympics Wyoming will be handing out awards for the best costumes, largest groups and the biggest fundraisers. For more information on this year's Jackalope Jump, visit the event page here.
