Veterans Treatment Court is a very stringent and accountable activity for veterans who may find themselves in trouble with the law. This is a way to help those who have served.

The Veterans Treatment Court was originally founded by the Honorable Robert Russell of Buffalo, New York in 2008. The idea came to him as he was dealing with a lot of cases, involving veterans, in drug and mental health court hearings that he presided over.

As of June 2014, the country has 224 veterans courts that are helping veterans, to include one in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

In April of 2014, it was reported that 32 people who attended the graduation ceremony, were showing their support and concern for local veterans in the system.

The whole goal of the team is to help veterans: be role models in the community, decrease recidivism and to return being a contributing member of society.
