Governor Matt Mead signed a proclamation Thursday declaring June 2014 as " Great Outdoors Month" in Wyoming.

In his proclamation, Governor Mead commened WY Outside, a coalition of public, private and nonprofit organizations which was established to encourage children and families to enjoy the outdoors throughout the year.

Milward Simpson, head of the Wyoming Division of State Parks and Cultural Resources, said it is great to have the Governor's support. He added that "the outdoor assets we have in Wyoming are a big part of our quality of life here and a big reason why we choose to live in a place like this."
