Wyoming Governor Matt Mead says he is looking forward to life as a private citizen once his current term as governor ends in January 2019.

Wyoming governors are capped at two consecutive four-year terms in any 16 year period under the Wyoming Constitution.

In an interview last week on KGAB-AM radio in Cheyenne, the governor addressed his post-gubernatorial plans by saying he is looking forward to running a ranch that he and his wife own in southern Albany County and being involved in community and charity work.

''For me, I believe in politics, you get in, you do your job and you get out and you get back into the private sector. I believe that's particularly true as governor," the governor said. He added "I'll be done with politics and ready to move into the private sector.''

Mead was first elected governor in 2010 and was re-elected to a second term in 2014.
