Grateful Dead Drummer Mickey Hart to Play Mishawaka Amphitheatre This Weekend
Attention Deadheads! A member of the Grateful Dead will be playing two nights at the Mishawaka Amphitheatre this weekend.
The Mickey Hart Band is part of ‘Stellarfest’ on Friday, August 24, and Saturday, August 25, at the intimate venue in Colorado’s Poudre Canyon.
The Mickey Hart Band consists of Widespread Panic bassist Dave Schools, Grammy winning percussionist and longtime band mate Sikiru Adepoju, Tony Award winning vocalist Crystal Monee Hall, singer and multi-instrumentalist Joe Bagale, drummer Ian “Inx” Herman, guitarist Gawain Matthews, and keyboardist/producer, Ben Yonas.
On April 10th, 2012, Hart released ‘Mysterium Tremendum,’ his first studio album in five years and the follow up to his 2007 Grammy winning ‘Global Drum Project.’ For this latest project, Hart joined up with long time Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter.
On Friday, the opening act will be Ill-Mannered and on Saturday, beginning the show will be DJ Logic and ReaLife Actual. ‘Stellarfest‘ is presented by the Oskar Blues Brewery.
The Mishawaka’s Summer of the Dead continues the next Saturday, September 1, with the other half of the Rhythm Devils, drummer Bill Kreutzmann of the Grateful Dead along with 7 Walkers and opening act, Jet Edison.
