Do you need a Grateful Dead fix to hold you over until their Fare Thee Well concerts?

On Monday, May 4, you can Meet-Up at the Movies and watch a never before seen concert from 1989 at select theaters in Colorado.

This will be the 5th Annual Meet-Up at the Movies event, encouraging fans to get together with fellow Deadheads at theaters across the country on the same night. This year, they'll be screening the Grateful Dead's last concert at Alpine Valley, Wisconsin from July 19, 1989.

The previously unreleased concert film runs 2 hours and 50 minutes and here are the closest theaters showing the movie at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 4:

  • Ft. Collins Cinemark Theaters, 4721 S. Timberline Road
  • Century Boulder Theaters, 1700 29th St.
  • Westminster Promenade 24, 10655 Westminster Blvd.

The annual event is sponsored by Fathom Events and Rhino Entertainment, bringing a classic Grateful Dead concert to the big screen each year. This summer at Chicago's Soldier Field the band will play three Fare Thee Well concerts to celebrate their 50th anniversary on July 3, 4 and 5. Due to overwhelming demand, the original members of the northern California band added two more shows at Levi's Stadium, June 27 and 28, in Santa Clara.

All five of the 50th anniversary concerts will be simulcast through Fathom Events. Pre-sales run through May 15 at a cost of $79.95 for all five nights. That's a bargain considering the price of the concert tickets.
