Excessive speed and poor road conditions are the cause for a single car rollover that claimed the lives of a pair of Guernsey residents Saturday morning on Interstate 25.

Wyoming Highway Patrol Spokesman, Sgt. Steve Townsend, says 57-year-old Catherine Case and 52-year-old James Cannon were heading northbound on I-25 about 7 miles north of Douglas before 7 a.m. when their vehicle went into a broad slide. The vehicle, whiched rolled two times, crossed both southbound lanes before resting in the emergency lane.

Townsend says neither occupant was wearing a seat belt, and both were ejected from the vehicle. Case and Cannon were declared dead at the scene. Investigators aren't sure who was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash.
