As fan voting continues for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's next induction class, we can't help but wonder how these five key acts were somehow overlooked. Watch the above video for more on who got left out – and why they shouldn't have been one of 2018's worst snubs.

Everyday folks have been allowed to vote since 2012. Their collective choices count as one of the ballots in determining new inductees. Each year, more than 900 industry figures, historians and artists are also invited to participate, including every living inductee. The top five vote-getters punch their ticket into the Hall of Fame.

But you've got to appear on the ballot first, and in some cases these overlooked groups have never even gotten that far. Those who'll advance before them will be announced in December. Induction ceremonies are set for April 14 in Cleveland. The event will then be broadcast on HBO at a date to be announced. Polls are open until Dec. 5; you can cast votes for your top five choices once a day at rockhall.com.

As for why these other great bands won't be there? The reasons seem to be many – not popular enough or too popular; not hip enough or too hip, so on ... – but the outrage remains. After all, who hasn't played the If-So-and-So-Is-In, Then-My-Band-Has-to-Be-In Game, right? Let's commiserate together with the above video, as we list 2018's Five Worst Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Snubs.
