Happy Birthday Anniversary To The 90th Missile Wing At FE Warren AFB

A hearty happy birthday to Cheyenne's 90th Missile Wing located at F.E. Warren Air Force Base! The base was activated, 53 years ago, on this day back in 1963.

The 90th Missile Wing is associated with the 20th Air Force, at F.E. Warren AFB. The wing originally began at Fairchild Air Force Base in Washington, and was known as the 90th Bombardment Wing, which was a B-29 Superfortress Unit by Boeing.

The unit is on full alert 7 days a week, 24 hours a day and operates 150 LGM-30G Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missiles.

The unit moved to Cheyenne's Francis E. Warren AFB on July 1,1963.
