Five people were killed Friday afternoon in a fiery crash near Baggs, Wyoming.

The crash claimed the lives of 12-year-old Scott White, 15-year-old Meagan White, 16-year-old Bruce White and their mother, 44-year-old Heather White of Peyton, Colo., as well as that of 28-year-old Katie O'Keefe of Casper.

According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, a northbound 2010 Nissan Armada driven by Heather White drifted into the southbound lane of Wyoming Highway 789 near milepost 28.5 at about 2:50 p.m., hitting a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, which was pulling an enclosed trailer, head-on.

Both vehicles burst into flames. The White family, who were in the Nissan, and O'Keefe, who was a passenger in the Chevrolet, all died at the scene.

Bystanders pulled the driver of the pickup -- 27-year-old Eric Hagen of Casper -- from the flames. A helicopter ambulance took him to Denver, Colo.

Troopers are examining excessive speed and driver inattention by Heather White as contributing factors in the crash. Road conditions were reported to be clear and dry at the time of the crash.
