Wild Bill Cody was last on the air with 101 9 KING FM just this last September.  It saddened me deeply to get the news that a heart attack on Christmas day took our friend and co worker, one of our own.  Bill would push the boundaries anytime he could in the name of entertaining his audience, and would rather apologize after the fact than ask permission before hand.  Bill breathed, ate and lived for radio...it was his obsession.  Many times people would simply shake their heads and proclaim that "He's CRAZY"!  Yup, that was our Bill!  A very creative man, behind a cartoonish voice...was the essence of what radio was and quite possibly still should be.  I know our world is missing a very caring, giving and talented man...gone to soon.  RIP..Wild Bill  I will miss you my friend!

Popular RENO disc jockey WILD BILL CODY died of an apparent heart attack at his home in COLORADO on CHRISTMAS Day at the age of 62, RJC reports. He was recuperating from a heart attack he suffered months earlier.

CODY came to RENO from DENVER to do mornings at KWNZ in 1988, and stayed until 1994. In AUGUST 1994, he went to WBBM (B96)/CHICAGO for one year and later co-hosted a morning show in CINCINNATI. According to his LINKED IN bio, CODY rode a riding lawn mower from CINCINNATI to NEW ORLEANS to raise money for flood victims. The 1,100-mile journey took 11 days to complete.

In 1997, he returned to RENO as weekday morning drive on KLCA (ALICE). Most recently he was sales manager/radio personality at KJMP/FORT COLLINS, CO.
