Laramie County School District #1 spokeswoman Mary Quast says Hebard Elementary School was briefly locked down on Thursday morning due to an incident in the neighborhood which resulted in police being called to the area.

Quast says the lockdown began before school started and lasted until about 8:20 a.m.

Officer Dan Long of the Cheyenne Police Department says officers were called to the area in response to an argument between ''an older student" and a parent.

Long says no arrests were made and no weapons were involved in the incident. Quast says all students and staff are safe and the school is now operating normally.
