Weight loss has been a big trend for years now, but are we losing weight correctly?Sometimes we feel like a hamster on a Habitrail walking, walking, walking and going nowhere fast. Well, you are not alone. There are many common mistakes that people make when trying to lose weight.

Today on the Top 5 at 7:45, I'll highlight common mistakes that we all make or have made when trying to shed those unwanted pounds.

  1. "Magic" Weight Loss Pill - Nothing goes farther than exercise and watching what we eat.
  2. All Carbs Are Bad For Us - Carbohydrates are our bodies main source of energy. The trend of "low carb diets" are waning. Studies have found that eating complex carbs like high fiber cereals can actually help you lose weight.
  3. "Low Fat" or "Fat Free" Means Less Calories - Typically this means less fat, but not fewer calories.
  4. Eating Healthy Costs You More Cash - It may be "cheaper", at the time, to buy a burger and fries, but medical costs are rising fast in this country. You have to look at investing in your body and health today, may pay off in great dividends tomorrow.
  5. Skipping Meals - Skipping a meal now means less calories, however if you overindulge in meals and calories later, then what good did it do? Those who eat breakfast, tend to weigh less than those who don't. Don't forget to pack healthy snacks like fruit and veggies to curb your hunger pangs throughout the day.
