A church bell that was a gift from a Philadelphia Episcobal Church to St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Cheyenne in 1868 was removed from the church's tower on Thursday.

The bell was placed in it's most recent home in the church tower in 1925.

Father Rick Veit, Rector of St. Mark's says the old bell will eventually be displayed on the church grounds.

The bell was functionally replaced by other bells in the tower many years ago, and therefore doesn't have to be replaced.
