The Wyoming Coalition for the Homeless will hold a Homeless Memorial Ceremony on Sunday December 21st from 1-2 p.m. at the state capitol building in Cheyenne.

The ceremony is designed to honor the memory of the homeless in our community. Reverend Rick Veit of St. Mark's Episcopal Church will officiate the ceremony. Five homeless individuals who have died this year will be honored with the ringing of a bell for each person.

The ceremony was started by the late Virginia Sellner, former Wyoming Coalition for the Homeless founder/executive director, about 10 years ago. It is held on the first day of the winter to give people an idea of what it might feel like for a homeless person living outside on the streets.
