A Rock Springs trucker who was hospitalized following a rollover on Interstate 80 west of Rawlins on Friday has died from his injuries.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol says 30-year-old Steven Gunderson died at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper on Sunday.

Gunderson was headed east on I-80 about four miles west of Rawlins, when he blew a tire and rolled his truck. He was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected during the crash.

The tire failure is being investigated as the contributing factor in the crash, which marks the 53rd highway fatality in Wyoming this year.
