An Idaho truck driver remains in custody at the Sweetwater County Detention Center, charged with multiple felonies after an incident of reported domestic violence near Wamsutter.

Sweetwater County Sheriff Rich Haskell says deputies responded at about 3:00 AM on December 5 to Love’s Truck Stop just north of Wamsutter, where they found a woman identified as Georjana Price, who had herself locked in a toilet stall, hiding from a man later determined to be Allen Gordon Taber, 56, of Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Price told Deputies that she and Taber, her “significant other” with whom she was traveling in his semi rig, got into an argument inside the semi. Taber, she said, “hit her on the legs, grabbed her arms and hit her across the face with his forearm.” Price also told the county officers that Taber “grabbed her chin and covered her mouth and nose with his hand,” slammed the door on her leg when she tried to get out of the truck, and told her “‘You are my hostage.’”

Taber, she said, “retrieved a gun from under the bed in the cab, pointed the gun at her chest and said ‘I’m going to kill you.’”

Price said she “was finally let out of the truck and allowed to go inside the store,” where she “hid inside the restroom.”

Haskell says Taber was arrested at the scene and a .22-caliber semiautomatic pistol was found. He is charged with aggravated assault and battery and strangulation of a household member, both felonies, and battery against a household member, a misdemeanor. At last report he remained in custody at the Sweetwater County Detention Center in lieu of a $100,000 bond set by Circuit Court Judge Dan Forgey, as the investigation continues.
