It's Summer and many folks will be headed into the back country to spend some time with nature.  But are you as prepared to be in the woods as you should be?

Several years ago I was at a big outdoor / sportsman's show and found some laminated cards that displayed animal track and what animals they belonged.  I purchased several cards and handed them out to the kids in my family to get them interested in tracking and hunting animals.

You can find these types of animal identification cards at local sporting goods stores or you can find and order them online.  The one's I picked up were laminated so the kids (and adults) can carry them with them on a hike and not worry about getting them wet.  But you can also find various websites where you can print them off on your home printer and might try printing them off on map paper to help keep them in tact. Its a great way to get the young and old a like interested in the outdoors and into beginning tracking techniques.
