Republican incumbents Troy Thompson and Linda Heath will square off against Republican Gunnar Malm and lone Democrat Lee Filer in November for the three open seats on the Laramie County Board of Commissioners.

Thompson won the largest share of the Republican vote in Tuesday's primary with 25.01 percent, while Heath earned 21.98 percent.

Malm finished strong in third place with 20.30 percent of the vote.

The top three vote-getters in the Nov. 6 general election will join Republican commissioners Amber Ash and Buck Holmes, who were re-elected to four-year terms in 2016.

Commissioner Ron Kailey, the only Democrat on the commission, announced in April that he would not be seeking re-election.
