With some serious winter weather headed our way over the next few days, the National Weather Service office in Cheyenne is reminding motorists to be ready.

Temperatures are expected to hit the single digits below zero, with several inches of snow making travel conditions problematic. Experts recommend that you have a full tank of gas, a fully charged cell phone, and a willingness to cancel or postpone travel plans in case things get too dangerous.

Non-perishable food items and water are also advisable, especially if you are traveling out of town. And of course, making sure your car is mechanically sound is always a good idea before hitting the road.
