It’s Free Comic Book Day, Grab A Stack And Read

Today is Free Comic Book Day and several local participating retailers are giving away comics and sponsoring events.

Heroes Only Comics & Games at 3151 East Nationway, Suite K5 is hosting a giveaway from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Their website is www.heroesonly.net.

The Laramie County Library also was having a giveaway in their gallery and screening comic book related films, plus putting on a Comic Art Workshop featuring local artist Yusef Abonahmah.

Since 2002, on the first Saturday in May comic book retailers across North America have been handing out free comics to help bring new readers into independant comic book stores. The event was started by Joe Field of Flying Colors Comics in Concord, California in his "Big Picture" column written in Comics & Games Retailer magazine.

Grab a stack of your favorite super hero comics and enjoy some adventures or you could watch one of the many super-hero-related movies. This weekend Thor premeirs on the big screen.
