Wyoming’s new design for Jonah Field at War Memorial Stadium has received rave reviews since its completion in June of 2013. The latest review came this week from the national football website FootballScoop.com. FootballScoop ranked its Top 10 college football field designs in the country, and Jonah Field came in at No. 6 and was the top ranked field West of the Mississippi.

The Top 10 included: 1. LSU; 2. East Carolina; 3. Tennessee; 4. North Carolina; 5. Notre Dame; 6. Wyoming; 7. Nebraska; Tie 8. Clemson and Georgia; 9. Maryland; and 10. Boise State.

In describing Wyoming’s new design, FootballScoop had this to say, “Like the (North Carolina) Tar Heels, Wyoming’s recent changes pushed them into the national consciousness. Also, it’s never a bad thing when you can paint an intimdation factor into your field, as the Cowboys do by reminding everyone they’re playing a mile and a half above sea level.”

Installation of the new FieldTurf Revolution playing surface at the University of Wyoming’s War Memorial Stadium was completed in late June 2013. The field’s new features include the image of Wyoming’s Teton Mountains in the end zones, and on the sidelines is the lettering “7220 Feet” to distinguish Jonah Field as the highest NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) stadium in the country.

UW’s school colors of brown and gameday gold are prevalent throughout.  The traditional words “WYOMING” and “COWBOYS” are displayed in brown on a vivid gameday gold background in opposite end
