Cheyenne Mayor Rick Kaysen is pleased with the state Supplemental Budget Proposal put forward on Monday by Governor Matt Mead.

Kaysen says the $25 million the governor is proposing for local governments "is very good news". He says the proposal is in line with what the mayor says is Mead's long standing policy of support for local governments across the state.

Kaysen is also pleased at the proposal to allocate $21.7 million for road and highway improvements, noting some of that money will benefit  Cheyenne through various Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) projects in the area.

The Supplemental Budget proposal is for the 2015-2016 Biennium and must be approved by the legislature before taking effect,
