Cheyenne Mayor Rick Kaysen doesn't support a proposal in the state legislature to ban local governments in the state from passing their own laws on firearms.

"That disturbs me, to be honest with you", the mayor says, adding that he is especially concerned about what he calls ''a blanket statement across the state" about allowing guns in city meetings. Kaysen says he intends to be present at the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on the bill Wednesday morning. Kaysen says the proposal takes away the right of local governments to make decisions in the best interest in their community.

Kaysen also says that while the second amendment guarantees the right to bear arms, the constitution also provides for a right to personal safety.
