Cheyenne Mayor Rick Kaysen says he expects Cheyenne Frontier Days 2015 to draw big  crowds.

The mayor says preliminary indications based on  CFD ticket sales and inquiries are hopeful signs for the world's largest outdoor rodeo. The mayor on Thursday echoed recent statements by Visit Cheyenne President Darren Rudloff that all signs are pointing towards even bigger numbers for CFD than the last couple of years, both of which were considered strong.

Rudloff cited low gas prices and a generally improving economy as reasons for optimism. Cheyenne Frontier Days is considered by many local merchants as "a second Christmas" in terms of doing business.

It's especially important for businesses such as restaurants, gas stations, bars and any business that is targeted towards tourism. In some cases it's considered a ",make or break" time for business success in Cheyenne.

Kaysen says he thinks the new "Cowboy Triangle" shuttle service, which will transport tourists between Frontier Park, parking areas and downtown Cheyenne, will also help improve traffic in many downtown businesses during CFD 2015.
