Laramie County Clerk Debra Lee reports over 7,900 Laramie County Voters had cast ballots in the 2016 Wyoming Primary election as of 3:15 p.m.

Lee says another 5,800 people voted early or absentee, with about 80 percent of those ballots returned so far. She is reminding people that absentee ballots must be turned in to the clerk's office at 309 W. 20th Street by the 7 p,m, voting deadline to count.

Lee says the voting in today's primary election has mostly gone smoothly with a couple of minor exceptions. She says a few campaign signs were taken down that were in violation of state election laws because they were within 100 feet of a polling place.

There were also reports of supporters of an independent presidential candidate circulating petitions outside of Storey Gymnasium.

Lee is also reminding people who are not registered to vote that they can do so at the polls with a driver's license or other government-issued photo identification.
