The number of requested absentee ballots for the Nov. 6 General Election has already surpassed the number of those sent out during the 2010 and 2014 elections, according to Laramie County Clerk Debra Lee.

She said that as of Friday, Sept. 28, her office had mailed out 2,469 absentee ballots. That is a 48 percent increase over the number mailed out in the period before the 2014 General Election in Laramie County and a 66 percent increase over 2010.

Lee on Tuesday noted there has been a national trend towards voters casting early or absentee ballots, adding that seems to be the case in Laramie County as well. Registered voters may request an absentee mail ballot by calling (307) 633-4242 or by emailing election@countyclerk.com.

Early voting in the Atrium of the Laramie County Governmental Complex has been going on since Sept. 21. People can cast their ballots in the Atrium Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. until 4:45 p.m.

There will be no voting on Monday, October 8, due to the building being closed for Columbus Day.
