The Laramie County Commission on Tuesday voted 4-1 in favor of an amended version of Plan Cheyenne.

The vote means the plan has now been approved by both the Cheyenne City Council and the commission, but there are significant differences between the two versions.

Among the amendments approved by the commission is a provision to prohibit the Metropolitan Planning Organization from implementing major projects in the county without the commission's approval. Another would allow the plan to be amended at any time, rather than only during a specific part of the year.

Commissioners approved roughly 100 changes to the plan. Commissioner M. Lee Hasenauer, who was the lone no vote, said the commission "listened to the will of the people" and "essentially gutted" what he considers to be the worst aspects of the plan.
