With about six weeks until Wyoming's August 21 Primary Election day, one of the hottest local races in Laramie County is for three seats on the Laramie County Commission.

On the Democratic side, former state legislator Lee Filer is running unopposed and will automatically advance to the November General Election, according to Laramie County Clerk Debra Lee. She says since there are three open seats, Democrats could also write in the names of candidates for the two other party nominations.

If any Democratic candidate receives at least 25 votes, they could then either accept or decline to be nominated for the November General election.

The situation for Laramie County Republican commission candidates is much simpler. Six candidates are running for the three open seats. Local Republicans will be able to vote for up to three candidates, and the top three vote-getters will advance to the November General Election.

If you are a Republican, take our survey and tell us who you plan to vote for. You can vote for as many as three, or fewer if you so choose.
