Kathy Hathaway was recently named the new dean for the School of Mathematics and Sciences at Laramie County Community College.

Hathaway comes to Cheyenne after working as dean of student services at Medicine Creek Tribal College and also at Clover Park Technical College in the human services program and the Faculty Teaching & Learning Center.

After working in community mental health as a therapist and administrator, she began her teaching career in 1992 and has taught undergraduate and graduate psychology courses for Chapman University, St. Martin’s University and Pierce College.

According to LCCC Hathaway holds a master’s in psychology from Pacific Lutheran University, a bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Puget Sound and an associate degree from Tacoma Community College. She is currently working on completing a Ph.D. in adult education and higher educational leadership at Oregon State University.

Hathaway begins her new position on June 30.
