Two men were left hospitalized after an apparent fight over a car in the West College Drive area led to a shooting, according to a spokeswoman for the Laramie County Sheriff's Department.

Captain Linda Gesell says deputies were called to 909 W. College Drive a little before 10 p.m. Friday on a report of two or three shots having been fired. Gesell says deputies found one man had been shot.

He was taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center with a wound to his lower chest area.

Deputies searching the area soon found the suspect laying unconscious in a nearby field. A gun was next to the suspect, and two 9 mm casings were found.

The suspect was taken to CRMC, where he was placed in custody. As of Saturday afternoon, he was still hospitalized but had not been formally charged. Gesell says so far the names of the people involved have not been released.
