Tommy Ramone, of the punk band the Ramones and the last surviving member of the original group, died at 12:15 p.m. Friday 7/11/2014) at his home in Ridgewood, Queens. He had been in hospice care following treatment for cancer of the bile duct.

Born Erdélyi Tamás in Budapest, Hungary, and known as drummer TOMMY RAMONE, he co-founded the Ramones in 1974, in New York along with singer Joey Ramone, bass player DeeDee Ramone and guitarist Johnny Ramone, had different last names, but took the common name Ramone, because it was the name The Beatles' Paul McCartney used to check into hotels anonymously.

Tom was 62.        'Gabba Gabba Hey!'
