Lawmakers Looking At ‘Bicycle Friendly’ Steps

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A legislative committee is considering a study to look at ways to expand Wyoming's bicycle pathways and trails system.

The Joint Travel, Recreation, Wildlife and Cultural Resources Interim Committee is expected to consider a proposal later this month to create a task force to do study making Wyoming a more bicycle-friendly state.

The nine-person group would develop a long-range plan for what laws can be changed to improve bicyclist safety, where bike paths should go and where funding for any changes can be found.

Unlike many of the other studies the state conducts, the proposed bike study would not include any money for staff, travel, consultants or any other resources.
