Laramie County School District #1 will host an instrumental music information night, from 6:30-8 p.m., on Wednesday, Aug. 26, in Storey Gym, 2815 House Ave.

District music teachers will answer questions and demonstrate instruments available for study in grades four through six.

Instrumental music instruction is provided for all interested students as part of the regular school day on an elective basis. String instruments available for study include violin, viola, cello and bass. Band instruments include flute, clarinet, oboe, saxophone, trumpet, horn, trombone, baritone and percussion.

LCSD1 Music Coordinator Sean Ambrose said, “This event is an opportunity to explore the various instruments and to get information on the elementary instrumental program.”
Students from Central, East and South high schools will demonstrate instruments throughout the evening.

For more information about LCSD1’s instrumental programs, please contact the district music office at 771-2104, or visit with your child’s music teacher.
