Laramie County School District#1 Director of Instruction Dr. Marc LaHiff says LCSD#1 is planning to offer parents some night-time and online courses to aid them in helping their kids with math and English coursework.

LaHiff says the district offered such courses a few years ago, adding they ''went by the wayside" over time. But he says recently he's been getting feedback from parents indicating such classes might be worth bringing back.

LaHiff says district officials often hear from parents that while they know how to get answers for, say elementary school match courses, they don't know the strategy being used these days to arrive at the answers, and therefor aren't able to help their kids.

LaHiff says the idea for such courses was one of the items to come out of feedback from parents during a "State of the District" event earlier this month.

He says the courses are still in the planning stages at this point, adding the district will announce the dates and locations once the plans are finalized.
