Laramie County School District#1 Superintendent Mark Stock says that while most returning students won't find too many changes, they may notice some differences at lunchtime.

He says new federal guidelines mean some portions will be smaller in keeping with calorie restrictions, and parents will have to pay extra to allow their kids to go back for second servings, which used to be available free of charge. Stock also says some foods which used to be part of the lunch menu will no longer be available.

The changes are in line with new federal guidelines aimed at fighting obesity among students and generally offering healthier food in school lunches.
