Both the Wyoming Life Resource Center in Lander and the Wyoming State Hospital (WSH) in Evanston will gain new leadership as a result of Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) organizational changes.

According to the Department of Health, Bill Sexton, who has been serving as WSH superintendent since 2011, has been named as WDH Behavioral Health Division facilities administrator, which is a new WDH position. He will oversee both WSH and WLRC.

Chris Newman, WDH Behavioral Health Division senior administrator, said Sexton will work with the superintendents of both facilities to strengthen and align their operations and improve practices. “Bill has done a great job for us at the Wyoming State Hospital,” Newman said. “I’m confident he can continue to move both facilities forward.”

Newman also announced Paul Mullenax has agreed to serve as interim WSH superintendent. Mullenax has worked at WSH for 20 years, primarily as the business manager. Adam Merrell will continue to serve as WLRC superintendent.
