Peter Gabriel has released his first new song since 2014's "Why Don't You Show Yourself" and a taste of what promises to be his first album of original material since 2002's Up. You can listen to the song, "I'm Amazing," above.

The seven-and-a-half-minute track marks Gabriel's first new material since he contributed "Why Don't You Show Yourself" to the soundtrack of the 2014 film Words With Gods. Gabriel had performed that song live the previous year, but a studio version hadn't surfaced until late 2014.

"I'm Amazing" will most likely show up on Gabriel's new album, which he teased last year on social media. There's no release date yet, but the appearance of the song -- which Gabriel said was written a few years back with Muhammad Ali in mind -- indicates that it's on the horizon ... though maybe not that close. Gabriel said of the song's premiere, "At the time of his death, when so many people are celebrating his life and thinking about all he achieved, it seemed the right time to release it.”

The former Genesis singer has released three albums this decade, but none has included original material: 2010's Scratch My Back features covers of other artists' songs, 2011's New Blood consists of new takes of old Gabriel songs with orchestral backing and 2013's And I'll Scratch Yours is a sequel to the 2010 LP, spearheaded by Gabriel but spotlighting others covering Gabriel classics.

The new song -- which steers Gabriel back into the art-rock of his past -- follows a busy period for the singer, who recently saw the release of his back catalog on vinyl and a new tour with old pal Sting, which is set to launch next week. "I'm Amazing" will be available for purchase on all digital services tomorrow.
